hello, my beautiful sunshine humans, and welcome to Living the Levity Way. Today we are starting as a very special series here called Beyond Time, because longevity is no longer just about living longer. It's about. Living better longer. And before we begin, let me say this clearly. If anyone promised you eternal use through injections, pills, or fear based antiaging, well take a breath. We are not doing that here. We are doing intelligent longevity, science backed. Body honoring joy infused? Oh, yes. Let's start with the simple question. What is longevity? Really, the Oxford Dictionary defines longevity as long life. Well, technically that's correct, but wildly incomplete, don't you think? Because longevity is not just about how many candles you blow out. It's about how you move, how you think, how you feel inside your own body. True longevity means living free of chronic disease, having a sharp, curious mind, feeling strong, mobile and independent and actually, huh, and actually enjoying your life, not just surviving it. So let me be very honest here. What good is a wrinkle-free face if the body underneath is stiff, inflamed, exhausted. Oh, well, and disconnected. Longevity without vitality is not success. It's just extended survival. One of the most influential books I ever read was written long before Longevity became Sexy or marketable. It was by Dr. Gina Alva, titled We Are Fluorescent On Soto. I read that back in Germany. It translates loosely. We eat ourselves to death. And yes, that title alone already started a rebellion in my teenage brain. I grew up with the classic German diet from potatoes and dumplings and spitler and schnitzel, and all these things. Delicious but heavy. Very heavy. So chatal over's radical message was deceptively simple. The body drives on less. On rhythm, on simplicity, on trust. She claimed something that at the time sounded outrageous. And today it sounds prophetic that the majority of chronic disease is not caused by aging, but by over consumption and metabol overload. I didn't read this book and suddenly start counting calories. I did something much better. I started learning to listen to my body, and interestingly, without effort, without rules, without punishment, I naturally began. Uh, eating less frequently? Yes. Long before intermittent fasting had a name, I was already doing it, not because it was 20, it wasn't even a thing yet, but it felt right. And here's the super wild part. With the exception of pregnancy, my body found a stable balance very early in life. Not sinness, but balance. That's what longevity feels like. Fast forward and science finally caught up this what intuitive medicine has already known. Dr. One of the world's leading longevity researchers studied hundreds of centenarians and found something fascinating. Aging is not random decay. It follows identifiable biological pathways, and many of them are modifiable. Long lived individuals often share reduced IGF one signals. Slower metabolic drive, strong cellular repair systems, and surprisingly well-functioning brains. This is where I gently remind people daily at my clinic. Cholesterol is not the villain. Blind suppression is longevity. Medicine is trying to target aging itself, not just the diseases that appear later. And while that sounds so super exciting, it also brings us to a very important caution. There's a lot excitement right now around drugs like metformin and rubber, Vincent and Stolly, and all these GP one and tens and twenties. Some show promise. Many come with sick significant risks. Metformin, for example, as a diabetes drug, so are all the others. They had been promoted for longevity. But studies show the risk like vitamin B12 depletion, neuropathy, gastrointestinal de-stress, all of the TV ones are doing that. Potential fertility implications. Ladies, listen to that. Again, potential fertility implications. And I'm going to ask the obvious question here. Why would we take medication meant to treat a disease like diabetes if you don't actually have this disease? Longevity should support physiology not override it, which leads me to the molecules that earned their place in my longevity toolbox instead of forcing the body, I prefer to support what is designed to do. Two molecules stand out there, for example, there are many, many more, but one of my favorites is NAD. Your mitochondrial flu and tine. Your master detoxifier together, they restore cellular energy. They support your DNA repair. They protect your brain. They regulate the inflammation. They enhance resilience. They aren't trends. They are foundational. To human biology and when levels decline with age, oh, well we don't fail. We've replenish those wisely. But biology is only half of the story because in my experience and in emergence science, how we think, believe, and move through life has a profound impact on how we age.
