Hello, my beautiful souls and welcome to Living the Levity Way. I'm here, Dr. Sunshine, and today we are going straight into your belly. Yes, the place where all your food cravings, butterflies, and bloating live, and surprise. It's also where most of your happy chemicals live too. Let me ask you something. Have you ever noticed how when your belly is cranky, your mood is equally cranky, like bloated belly, bloated brain iterated belly and iterated brain, and don't even get me started on running to the bathroom in the middle of the night because that is a whole mood killer. Here's the truth. Your gut isn't just a digesting machine. Nope. It's basically your second brain, and honestly, sometimes it's the one in charge. Today we are talking about why your gut has more to say in your mood, your focus and your sleep, and your sparkle than you ever imagined. And don't worry, I keep it real. It's science sprinkled and we still keep it fun, right? So buckle up. Or maybe I should say loosen that belt because the gut brain connection is about to blow your mind. Alright, let's nerd out, but keep it sexy inside your belly. There is a whole city, trillions of little bacterias. Viruses, fungi, they are not freeloaders. They are tenants. They are paying rent in the form of vitamins, neurotransmitters, immune system, regulation. This is called your microbiome. Now imagine this, if your gut city is like New York, you have gut traffic, subways, skyscrapers, if the subways goes on, strike. The whole city crashes. That's exactly what happens when your gut microbes go off balance. You don't just get gas, you get mood swings, brain fog, fatigue, even anxiety and depression. And here's the kicker, about 90 to 95% of your serotonin. Yes. The happy hormone we have associated with antidepressants. It's made in your gut, not in your brain, in your gut. So if your microbiome is cranky, guess what? You happiness factory freaking is on strike. And then we have got the vagus nerve. The ultimate gossip line between your gut and your brain. Think of like WhatsApp. Your gut is texting your brain all day long. Hey, I'm inflamed down here. Hey, I need more fiber. Hey, those four espresso. Very terrible idea. Your brain is literally reacting to those messages in real time. This is why when you eat junk food, you don't just feel heavy in your stomach. Well, you feel heavy in your mind. So to that brain connection isn't some woowoo thing. It's science and it's powerful. Now let's play detective. How do you know your gut is running the show? Here are some big red flags, constant bloating or gas. Your gut bugs are throwing a party and didn't invite you. Cravings, especially sugar. That's not, you are being weak. That's your bacterias. Sending strong armed requests, mood swings, anxiety, brain fog. Your neurotransmitters are out of tune, random fatigue or immune crashes. Mm-hmm. Yep. 70% of your immune system lives in your gut lining. Well, basically, if your belly is unhappy. Everyone else in your body is gonna hear about it. Think like a toddler tantrum. The whole household suffers. That's your gut. Okay? But there are good news too. You don't have to live in gut drama city. There are simple, doable, sparkly sinks you can do every single day to keep that microbiome CD driving food first. Eat real food. Eat more plants, eat more fiber. Every time you feed your microbes fiber, they do a happy dance and send you feel good chemicals. Probiotics. I'm not saying you need the$80 supplement. Dry sauerkraut, kimchi, yogurt, kefi. Little bites of probiotic foods daily, equal microbiome love. Hydration. Your intestines are basically a water slide. If there's no water, nothing is moving. Enough said, you can picture it. Stress reset. This one. Big chronic stress in flames. The gut. Well, this is my vagus nerve. Rituals like humming, sighing, hands on heart are really gut medicine. Mindful eating. Slow down. Chew your food. Pretend you are in Italy, not rushing through a drive through. Digestion starts in your mouth, not in your stomach. Small, consistent habits, they add up. Trust me, your gut will sink you. All right. Let's actually do a little gut reset together. You can do this anywhere. No yoga mat is required here. Put one hand on your belly and the other one on your heart not driving. Please close your eyes. Inhale through your nose for a count of four. Feel your belly rise and exhale with a long sigh. Let your shoulders drop. Now you can add a hum on the exhale. Inhale and exhale with a soft. Hmm. Feel the vibration in your chest and belly. That's your vagus nerve, and it's saying Thank you. Let's add maybe an gentle affirmation at the end of that, I soothe my belly, I soothe my mind. Let's do it together one more time. Breathe in of a count of four. And exhale. I know that feels strange in the beginning and weird, but it's feels really good. And your vagus nerve will really say thank you to you. And if you think it's like a little weird to do in front of your family members. Just, uh, go to the bathroom and maybe close the door behind you. Turn on the water faucet until you get used to it, you'll be not so feeling weird anymore. Okay, this takes you two minutes and you will calm your gut, brain highway. How does that feel? How do you think about that? If this is resonating with you, you are going to love my book, gut to Be Healthy. Let's be real. It's gut Health Explained without the bs. No detox tea nonsense, no overpriced snake oil supplements, just real talk, real science and a whole lot of laughs about what's really happening in your belly. Alright, my loves. That is it for today. It's gut, brain, deep dive. Remember, your belly isn't just about digestion. It's your second brain, your mood manager and your sparkle generator. Take care of your gut and your gut will take care of you. And remember, as your Dr. Sunshine, I'm here to remind you, don't forget your sunshine within. Don't forget that belly wisdom and always shine bright. Until next time, stay sparkly, staying out. Happy and I will see you in the next episode of Living the Levity Way.
